For To Us A Child Is Born…Alleluia, Alleluia!

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6, NIV)

My friends what a beautiful image of God’s faithfulness, love and grace offered to the people of Israel, well over 2000 years ago. While we often cannot begin to comprehend this blessing we can receive it and believe it by faith, because He (God Almighty) has already done it.

Imagine how gracious our God was in giving them (the people of Israel) a special pledge through the words of the prophet Isaiah. A promise delivered to a people, His people, long before the birth of Jesus. A promise of Redemption found in Hope, a promise of the Light found in Truth and the promise of Life Eternal, during a time of despair, condemnation and gloom. He (God Almighty) was giving the people of Israel a shining light and ray of Hope that all was not lost because of the child, His only begotten son, He would bring forth into the world one day. Yes, alleluia, alleluia, God’s truth is truly with us!

But in Bethlehem many years after the time of the Prophet Isaiah was born a baby, born of a virgin named Mary, conceived by the Holy Spirit in fulfillment of Scripture, whose purpose was known from of old even from before the creation of the world! That baby in Bethlehem's manger would one day die a cruel and horrific death upon an old rugged cross, in order to pay for our sins and the sins of the world. But this child; born on Christmas day, he would be and do so very much more than that. This child is our Savior… Jesus Christ the Lord. As people of faith, let us then loudly proclaim: "For unto us a Child Born of a Virgin, is Born of a Promise Made by Almighty God!"

If you my friend are going through a trial, experiencing despair or discouragement as we near the advent of new life in Jesus, be encouraged that through Jesus you can/will receive His life, His light and His Hope for your situation. He can/will be your Wonderful Counselor, or Mighty God, our Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace, if you will allow Him into your heart.

My friends, just for a moment lets stop here to proclaim this “ULTIMATE TRUTH” of God’s love once again. Clearly, many of you know from personal experience what it feels like to be truly blessed by the truth found through Jesus the Christ, but many of us still stand before God Almighty this Christmas season trembling with fear and self-doubt; while inside we are longing for something and/or someone to heal and comfort our sin sick souls: “Again, if you have never asked Jesus to come into your heart, I encourage you to give Him a try and see just what God does in you and through you. Allow your lips and your heart to Confess your sins; ask Him to come into your heart and believe by faith that He is truly who He says He is; The Son of God, He is the Light of Life and the Messiah. God is faithful and He will do it!” (John 3:16, John 14:6, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8, Romans 10:9-13)

Let us pray: “May the Lord bless you this holiday season filled with His incredible love, mercy and grace and remember when He gave His only begotten Son, He brought Him into this world with you in mind!”

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16, NIV)
